The 2009 Shiki Special Kukai in memory of William J. Higginson was held by the Shiki Special Kukai Team which was composed of 2 groups, namely, the Shiki Monthly Kukai Team and the Shiki Team, and sponsored as an event of the Masaoka Shiki International Haiku Award Projects by the Ehime Culture Foundation.
First of all, we, the Shiki Special Kukai Team, want to say thank you to
everyone who participated in the Special Kukai. We are very pleased with
the number of participants , 292 people
from 27 countries , and the quality of the entries, 792 toku.
Ms.Dorota Pyra, the winner of the Kukai was invited to Matsuyama city of Ehime prefecture,
Japan in 2009 . The record of her stay in Ehime,Japan is up.
